Trefor A. Evans Ph.D.

Dr. Trefor Evans has worked in the hair and personal care industry for over 25 years as a manager in the product development labs of major consumer goods companies and as a director of measurement services before establishing TA Evans Inc in 2012. He possesses a Ph.D. in Physical-Analytical Chemistry specializing in the use of measurement science to support a wide range of functions within the personal care industry.  He holds seven patents in the area of hair care and has published numerous articles in the scientific literature and trade magazines as well as co-authoring and co-editing “Practical Modern Hair Science” by Allured Books.

 

Dr. Evans contributes a regular “Hair Testing Tactics” column for Cosmetics & Toiletries, while also serving on the magazine’s Scientific Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Expert Reviewing Panel for the Journal of Cosmetic Science. As Institute Fellow at TRI Princeton, Dr Evans organizes and teaches two annual hair science classes and has lectured at educational events organized by the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC). 

 

As a member of both the Society of Cosmetic Chemists in the US and the Society of Cosmetic Scientists in the UK, Dr. Evans strives to attend and present at all pertinent scientific conferences.  His research activities have twice been recognized by the Society of Cosmetic Chemists - through receipt of their Caudelli and Shaw Mudge Awards.
